Art opens up many career opportunities for students. Today’s artists make a living in various ways such as, game design, studio arts, product design, marketing and many others. 2D design provides a large range of approaches allowing students to discover what direction they want to go. Within 2D Design we will be working with several different mediums. We start out with drawing and move onto painting, printmaking, and mixed media. Within the class we explore self expression, and how to shape meaning in the work we create. Students will able to process, analyze and respond to sensory information through the use of skills and academic language unique to the visual arts. Students infuse problem-solving techniques in the making of art. We apply artistic processes and skills to communicate meaning and intent within art. Students get multiple opportunities to show and sell their work throughout the year. It’s a great class to learn the fundamentals of art as well as build upon your existing knowledge.<\/p>\n
