Level 2 students will demonstrate their understanding of machine tool safety and uses through demonstration and support of level 1 students. Level 2 students will continue to develop a strong working knowledge and use of the shop tools, and integrating more complex construction processes through project selection and exploring the design process. An advanced Level 2 student is highly self-motivated. Such a student, with instructor permission, will be allowed to create an “independent project plan” that will stretch their skills, force the student to investigate beyond the classroom demonstrations (online and with mentors) per techniques, construction practices and application of tool/machine uses.
